Simone

I am Simone Arpe, a software engineer who has spent a large part of his career building Android and Java software in both corporate and startup environments.

I care about code that stays understandable after the first exciting week is over: maintainable architecture, fast feedback loops, boring reliability, and tools that help developers make better decisions instead of hiding complexity from them.

I founded Sarpex Limited, moved this site from WordPress to a static setup, and still enjoy writing about the kind of practical engineering details that usually get lost between product deadlines and release notes.

Some long-running obsessions keep showing up here: LibGDX because games are a brutal way to learn feedback loops, ReactiveX and RxJava because they changed how I think about streams and state, and developer tools because a slow workflow quietly trains people to skip the careful part.

The old version of this page said that Simone likes to talk about himself in the third person. It was a small joke, but first person feels more honest now.

You can find more context on LinkedIn, follow my work on GitHub, or email me at simone@sarpex.com.
